The Buffet Crampon R13 Clarinet in A with nickel-plated key mechanism, Green-LinE body and undercut tone holes: "the legendary choice of professionals"!

The R13 was developed by Robbert Carré in 1955 and has quickly become the world's most popular professional clarinet. At that time, the Buffet Crampon R13 was a revolutionary development with the poly-cylindrical bore. The inside does not consist of a single cylinder, but of different cylinders with a slightly different diameter. The R13 was, and still is celebrated because of its rich focused tone and power in all registers. Today, this type of bore has been widely applied and the R13 has become the benchmark for all professional clarinets.

This is the GreenLinE version of the R13, which is made of 95% Grenadille wood powder and 5% epoxy resin. Green-LinE retains the acoustic properties of a wooden clarinet, while the clarinet is much better resistant to moisture and fluctuations in temperature and humidity. A Greenline clarinet is therefore more forgiving with regards to maintenance and the risk of cracks and fractures is almost zero. Because the Greenline material can be produces from residual wood that would otherwise be lost, it also contributes to more durable use of the scarce Grenadille wood.

The R13 GreenLinE is a very flexible clarinet and lends itself to a broad variety of repertoires. The R13 is popular at symphonies or chamber music, soloists, teachers, military bands, students and demanding amateurs.
