The Altus 817 alto flute comes with an split E-mechanism and a handmade straight head joint with solid silver lip plate and riser.

The Altus 800 series of alto flutes are, apart from the silver lip plate and riser, fully made of nickel silver. This makes them more durable and economical than silver Altus alto flutes. The Altus 817 has a well-balanced intonation and an even sound pattern in all registers. The instrument has a balanced feel, responds neatly in all registers and has a full and very beautiful, sonorous and nonetheless elegant sound allowing for every desired modulation.
