The Yamaha YFL 212 GL flute with gold plated lip plate, riser and interior is the revamped and improved version of the very populair Yamaha YFL-211, with gold plating on the headjoint. The new model differs from the previous one by the newly developed and elegant-looking pointed key arms. The improved pads have longer lasting stability and because of the further optimized production technology, the Yamaha YFL 212 GL has an even longer life.

The 200 series flutes Yamaha are ideal for beginners. The flutes from this series share a large part of their technique that of the professional flutes of Yamaha, but have been specifically designed with the needs of the less experienced player in mind. Through the use of nickel-silver, the flute can be offered for a much lower price than the sterling silver models, with only minimal concessions in sound. An additional advantage is that nickel-silver is very durable.

The Yamaha YFL 212 GL plays easily and the accurate intonation helps students develop a good ear. Due to the excellent value for money, reliable reputation and high residual value, this flute a safe choice.

The following features distinguishes the Yamaha YFL 212 GL from other models:

Gold plated lip plate, riser and interior
The YFL 212 GL only differs from the normal 212 by the lip plate, riser and interior, which are gold plated on the GL (Gold Lipplate). The lip plate has a relatively big influence on the sound of a flute and because gold has a greater density than nickel-silver, it gives the flute an intense glow.

Covered Keys
The covered keys make the Yamaha YFL 212GL easy to play. The covered pad cup, so will fully seal the tonehole anytime when the key is closed. Especially for beginners, this is important, because this allows them to focus on the basic techniques first. Advanced players sometines prefer to open keys, as these offer more subtle control and flexibility of tone.

Split E-Mechanism
The high E is one of the toughest notes to play on a flute. The E mechanism of the Yamaha YFL 212 GL flute gives more stability and improves intonation and response of high E.

Offset G
The G key is placed slightly to the left, resulting in a more natural placement of the fingers for most people. Often, teachers recommend that beginners start on a flute with an offset G configuration because it tends to play easier.

CY Headjoint
The CY headjoint offers excellent response and a rich, warm tone because of the double flare taper and a unique embouchure hole undercut design. The headjoint of the Yamaha YFL 212 GL flute helps novice players to form a good sound quickly. Also the more experienced players will appreciate this head-joint, because of the quick response in both high and low registers.
