British-made Denis Wick mutes are acclaimed worldwide for their sound quality, intonation in all dynamic ranges and superb workmanship.

The Denis Wick 5504 B Straight mute is heavier than the regular aluminium version. This mute produces a more brilliant sound. Very useful for its wonderful projection in the symphony orchestra, it produces a harder-edged sound in fortissimos than the regular aluminium mute. Also great for pit playing (both in operas and musicals) and in big bands if a strident muted sound is needed. It has all the all-round versatility of the DW5504 but with extra punch.
